Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; or post high school degree.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 18 months of hire date.
• Registered with SC Board of Pharmacy.
• Thorough knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology; possess good mathematical, computer, and aseptic technique skills.
• Ability to work in team situations, handle urgent, stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Fill and prepare medication orders using provider orders, medication kits/trays, automated dispensing cabinets, and floor stock requisitions.
• Operate dispensing cabinets, inventory management technology, label printers, and other pharmacy technologies; enter patient charges.
• Contribute to an efficient work environment by handling calls, serving at the pharmacy window, and prioritizing tasks.
• Fills, labels and packages medications and delivers to appropriate patient care area; manage STAT deliveries and returns.
• Adheres to regulations for sterile compounding and maintains required documentation.
• Supports training of new personnel and mentorship of pharmacy technicians and interns.
