Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the department support team at our New Jersey facility. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will perform duties authorized by the NJ Board of Pharmacy, including dispensing support, compounding, and inventory management.

Responsibilities include aseptic preparation, maintaining clean rooms, restocking Pyxis and other systems, and assisting with patient and inpatient/outpatient pharmacy services.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician licensure and state registration required.
• PTCB certification and national pharmacy technician certification within 1 year.
• HS diploma or GED required; BA/BS considered. 1+ year hospital pharmacy experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parenteral products aseptically under supervision.
• Maintain clean room and IV work area per USP 797.
• Assist with medication inventory and stock control on nursing units.
• Assist pharmacists with dispensing and labeling of medications.
• Support unit dose packaging and daily floor stock requests.
• Deliver medications timely and restock Pyxis devices.

Education

H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

Bachelor of Arts or Science

Equivalent Experience (1+ years hospital pharmacy experience)

Lic-Pharmacy Technician Reg (Required)

New Jersey Board of Pharmacy Registration (required within 180 days)

Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB

National Certification for Pharmacy Technicians (required within 1 year)
