Job summary

Children's National Medical Center is looking for a Pharmacy Messenger to convey dispensed medications and support pharmacist teams across the hospital environment. The role requires careful handling of medications, timely distribution, and collaboration with nursing and pharmacy staff.

You will assist in packaging and maintaining delivery systems, while upholding HIPAA, DC Law, JCAHO, and hospital policies. This is a key bedside support function within Pharmacy Services.

Qualifications

• Decision making and professional judgment required for fast-paced hospital logistics.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Email, etc.) to support documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
• Experience in a distribution-type medication delivery environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver medications to patient care areas within established timeframes using elevators or stairs.
• Stock and maintain medications and supply inventory par levels in all work areas and drug carts.
• Assist with packaging and distribution of medications and support urgent, accurate deliveries.
