Job summary

University Hospital is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will organize, supervise, and verify duties of support staff to ensure accurate, safe, and effective medication therapy for diverse patient populations.

You will interpret orders, resolve discrepancies, and provide patient-specific dosing and protocols while maintaining thorough med profiles.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of NJ is required.
• Pharmacy degree from an accredited program (BS Pharm or PharmD).
• Hospital/pharmacy practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-centered pharmaceutical services and staff oversight.
• Prepares, labels, and distributes medications for all settings.
• Interprets orders, identifies errors, and recommends therapy changes as needed.
• Maintains patient med profiles and ensures safe dosing and interactions.
• Supervises staff, coordinates weekend/evening shifts, and trains students.
• Coordinates sterile and non-sterile compounding and inventory control.
• Ensures compliance with USP guidelines and departmental policies.
• Communicates with nurses and physicians, acting as a pharmacy liaison.
