Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin Pharmacist license.
• At least one year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
• Epic experience required.
• Master's degree required; PharmD preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a central inpatient pharmacy.
• Strong communication and collaborative approach to changing workloads.
• Ability to comply with seasonal vaccination and masking policies.

Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders in Epic and ensure clinical/operational accuracy.
• Review and check technician-prepared medications.
• Answer pharmacist phone calls and support clinical teams promptly.
• Prepare inpatient and outpatient intravenous medications.
• Compound inpatient unit-dose medications per procedures.
• Support needs across inpatient/outpatient surgery, ICU, OB/GYN, and ED.

Travel Pharmacist Job Details

• Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient hospital pharmacy and central pharmacy
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,830-$3,040
• Shift: Night shift; shift duration listed as 10-hour nights, with daily schedules varying
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 p.m.-6:00 a.m.; Friday, 8:30 p.m.-7:00 a.m.; Saturday, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.; Sunday, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly; overtime after 80 hours worked in the second week
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Call/Callback: May be placed on call during low census; callback minimum is two hours
• Orientation: Eight hours
• Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided

Inpatient Pharmacist Job Requirements

• Current Wisconsin Pharmacist license
• At least one year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Epic experience required
• Master's degree required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a central inpatient pharmacy
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, resilient approach to changing workloads
• Ability to comply with applicable seasonal vaccination and masking policies

Hospital Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders in Epic and ensure appropriate clinical and operational accuracy
• Review and check technician-prepared medications
• Answer pharmacist phone calls and provide timely support to clinical teams
• Prepare inpatient and outpatient intravenous medications
• Compound inpatient unit-dose medications according to established procedures
• Support medication needs across inpatient and outpatient surgery, medical-surgical units, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, and the emergency department
• Manage multiple hospital orders and pharmacy priorities during the night shift
• Provide safe, efficient, and patient-focused pharmacy services while maintaining accurate documentation
