Job summary

BronxCare Health System in New York is seeking a patient transport professional who under direct supervision provides prompt and safe movement of patients throughout the hospital, assists nursing staff with transfers, and maintains stretchers and wheelchairs in ready condition.

You will respond to transport requests using designated equipment, log tasks per INTERSERV/PeopleCom systems, and collaborate with the Resource Center team to support high-quality patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• One year of hospital experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Patient transport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients between units and to and from beds, stretchers, and chairs.
• Assists nursing staff with transfers and oxygen connections as directed.
• Maintains and cleans stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Responds to transport requests using appropriate equipment and logs tasks per InterSERV and Page System.
• Participates in department meetings and adheres to safety and infection control policies.
