Job summary

Atrium Health Anson in Monroe, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for inpatient Hospital Medicine. The role features 7 days on, 7 days off, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, with 100% inpatient adult medicine and a collaborative practice model.

Ideal candidates have inpatient or hospital medicine experience, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited NP program and licensed in NC.
  • Master’s or Doctor of Nursing Practice required.
  • Acute Care certification required; ACNP/AGACNP preferred.
  • Current NC NP/APRN license and national board certification required.
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority required; BLS active.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, histories, and physical exams.
  • Manage inpatient admissions and daily rounding; cross-cover as needed.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans with a collaborative team.
  • Prescribe and administer medications within scope; coordinate care with teams.
  • Document care in the medical record and participate in quality initiatives.

Carolinas Hospitalist Group is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our inpatient Hospital Medicine team at Atrium Health Anson.

Position Highlights
  • Full-time inpatient position
  • 7 days on / 7 days off schedule

Responsibilities
  • Admissions and rounding
  • No call required; shifts may include cross-cover responsibilities
  • Collaborative practice model with Hospital Medicine physicians and APPs
  • Eligible for annual quality/performance incentive bonus

Ideal Candidate
  • Previous inpatient or Hospital Medicine experience preferred
  • Strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Comfortable managing medically complex adult patients
  • Ability to practice with appropriate independence and sound clinical judgment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective in a multidisciplinary care environment
Essential Functions
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
  • Manage inpatient admissions and daily rounding
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiology studies
  • Prescribe and administer medications within scope of practice
  • Document patient encounters and plans of care in the medical record
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice, as applicable
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, specialists, ancillary services, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Participate in departmental and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support appropriate discharge planning and transitions of care
  • Advocate for the needs of patients and families
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Master’s Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required

  • Current North Carolina PA licensure required
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority required
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required and must remain valid at least 90 days beyond start date
