Job summary

Advocate Health’s Atrium Health Anson in Monroe, NC is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for inpatient Hospital Medicine. The role offers a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule with 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shifts and 100% inpatient adult medicine.

Ideal candidates have inpatient or hospitalist experience, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication in a multidisciplinary setting. Eligible for annual incentives and CME support within Advocate Health.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Master’s Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred for NP.
• Current North Carolina NP/APRN or PA licensure and board certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
• Manage inpatient admissions and daily rounding.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and orders.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, and other team members.
• Support discharge planning and transitions of care.

Carolinas Hospitalist Group is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our inpatient Hospital Medicine team at Atrium Health Anson. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive inpatient care in a community hospital setting while working within the broader Advocate Health network.

Position Highlights

• Full-time inpatient position
• 7 days on / 7 days off schedule
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 100% inpatient adult medicine
• Responsibilities include admissions and rounding
• No call required; shifts may include cross-cover responsibilities
• Collaborative practice model with Hospital Medicine physicians and APPs
• Eligible for annual quality/performance incentive bonus

Ideal Candidate

• Previous inpatient or Hospital Medicine experience preferred
• Strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfortable managing medically complex adult patients
• Ability to practice with appropriate independence and sound clinical judgment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective in a multidisciplinary care environment

Essential Functions

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
• Manage inpatient admissions and daily rounding
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiology studies
• Prescribe and administer medications within scope of practice
• Document patient encounters and plans of care in the medical record
• Perform procedures within scope of practice, as applicable
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, specialists, ancillary services, and other members of the healthcare team
• Participate in departmental and quality improvement initiatives
• Support appropriate discharge planning and transitions of care
• Advocate for the needs of patients and families

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner Candidates

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Master’s Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required
• Acute Care certification required; ACNP or AGACNP preferred
• Current North Carolina NP/APRN and RN licensure required
• National board certification required
• DEA license and prescriptive authority required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required and must remain valid at least 90 days beyond start date

Physician Assistant Candidates

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Master’s Degree preferred
• NCCPA certification required
• CAQ certification preferred
• Current North Carolina PA licensure required
• DEA license and prescriptive authority required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required and must remain valid at least 90 days beyond start date
