Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Materials Handler to receive, process, and deliver supplies across the hospital in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

The role supports efficient supply chain operations by managing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and assisting departments in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will lift up to 50 pounds and operate standard material-handling equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in supply chain, logistics, or healthcare environment preferred.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Distribute, sort, and stage packages by delivery route.
• Deliver supplies to departments with accurate chain-of-custody scanning.
• Prioritize time-sensitive deliveries and manage refrigerated or sterile items.
• Maintain receiving and staging areas; ensure package integrity.
• Operate material handling equipment safely.
• Receive shipments into SCM system and perform data entry.
• Label, prepare, and verify outbound shipments.
• Maintain FIFO inventory rotation.
• Assist in training new team members as a preceptor.
