Job summary

Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa is seeking an Industrial Equipment Operator in Mason City to sort soiled linen and operate industrial washing equipment for patient care and contract accounts, while upholding high quality, production, sanitation, and safety standards in Textile Service.

This full-time day-shift role reports to the Textile Operations Coordinator and involves maintaining production records, coordinating with the textile team, and following all safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate washers/extractors as directed by supervisor.
• Operate tunnel washing machine, computer, and monorail system.
• Maintain even flow of sorted linen to washing/production areas.
• Record production data and weights accurately.
• Report needed repairs to Textile Service Engineer.
• Clean laundry equipment and keep work area tidy.
• Maximize productivity while following operating instructions.
• Work as a team to provide daily textile services.
• Keep supervisor informed of duties and completion of work.
• Meet productivity standards and demonstrate competency.
• Suggest improvements while respecting coworkers.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Act professionally reflecting Mercy mission and values.
• Communicate per Mercy Guiding Behaviors.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested.
