Job summary

The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a Kitchen Services Worker. Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, assembling trays, dishroom duties, and maintaining sanitation according to dietary policies.

Position is full-time, 40 hours/week with day shifts. Prior experience in food service for large or patient populations is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of approved sanitary methods and procedures for dining room equipment.
• Experience handling, preparing and cooking simple dishes on a large scale.
• Ability to work with patient populations.
• Competent in following simple oral or written instructions.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble food, beverages and service ware for tray line and cafeteria following diet cards.
• Prepare and cook simple dishes such as sandwiches, salads and soups.
• Inspect areas to ensure procedures are followed.
• Clean surfaces and equipment, sweep and mop floors.
• Deliver and retrieve food, beverages and service ware to units and cafeteria.
• Prepare and break down dish room and operate dish machine.
• Adhere to hospital dietary policies and safety procedures.
• Communicate politely with consumers and staff.
