Job summary

NMS is hiring a Food Service Worker to support the Alaska Psychiatric Institute in Anchorage. The role involves cleaning, stocking, food prep, and serving in a healthcare kitchen environment.

You will work Sunday through Thursday, 5:30am to 1:00pm, performing tray-line service and maintaining cleanliness throughout service periods. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Anchorage food handlers card or ServSafe, and solid knowledge of sanitation practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Municipality of Anchorage Food Handlers’ Card or ServSafe (30 days) required.
• Knowledge of proper food service sanitation methods and equipment.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients with food item selection on the tray line.
• Communicate issues to cooks regarding quality/quantity of food.
• Maintain cleanliness on the line during service.
• Restock cold food items such as salads, desserts and fruit.
• Keep cafeteria and storage areas clean and organized.
• Stock storage areas with products and rotate stock.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans; manage service areas.
