Job summary

St. Francis–Emory Healthcare in Columbus, GA, seeks an HVAC Mechanic / Boiler Operator to operate, maintain, and repair hospital HVAC and boiler systems across facilities. This role includes preventative maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and ensuring system performance for patient and staff comfort and safety.

An on-call rotation is required. The position requires a minimum of three years in HVAC/boiler operations, HVAC Journeyman and DOL Boiler Operator licenses, and preferred hospital

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• HVAC Journeyman license required.
• DOL Boiler Operator license required.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in HVAC and boiler operations.
• Hospital or healthcare facility experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and HVAC systems
• Change air filters and perform water treatment chemical tests
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and boiler systems and associated equipment. Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical devices including pumps, motors, medical air systems, and fan coil units
• Respond to maintenance calls and perform scheduled preventive maintenance
• Maintain accurate records of equipment service and maintenance
• Supervise and assist Maintenance Technicians I and II when assigned
• Comply with all applicable safety and regulatory standards
• Participate in departmental meetings, training, and required documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering
