Job summary

Methodist Hospitals is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping staff member to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. You will follow a duty list for your assigned area, handle waste removal, and ensure all rooms and surfaces are sanitized to hospital standards.

Daily responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, assisting with furniture moves, and reporting any safety hazards. The position emphasizes teamwork, independence, and adherence to confidentiality and compliance policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping cleans patient rooms and areas, including where equipment is stored.
• Removes regular and infectious waste as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of compactor area and restrooms daily.
• Relocates furniture, equipment, and boxes per supervisor instructions.
• Assists floor finishers as directed by Supervisor.
• Reports safety hazards and completes discharge room checklists daily.
• Returns carts, equipment, and supplies to storeroom in clean condition on shift end.
• Uses cleaning chemicals per manufacturer instructions 100% of the time.
• Duties completed according to a daily checklist for the assigned area.
• Keeps mirrors and windows clean daily; replenishes paper and soap supplies.
