Job summary

St. Michael’s Hospital Avera is seeking staff to maintain a clean and orderly environment across patient rooms, offices, and common areas on day shift in the United States.

You will participate in all cleaning activities, stock supplies, and ensure patient confidentiality while upholding hospital standards. Responsibilities include cleaning, linen handling, bed changes, and maintaining a courteous, professional demeanor with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or one to three months related experience preferred.
• Must be able to work the hours specified.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but are not limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned (dusting, washing, waxing, drying, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, moving furniture, trash disposal).
• Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels and toilet paper.
• Maintains stock on cleaning carts with wet and dry supplies.
• Sorts, washes, and delivers linens.
• Washes beds and mattresses and remakes beds after patient dismissal.
• Maintains good customer relations and confidentiality of hospital information.
