Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
• Ability to accurately and legibly complete required work assignment forms.
• Ability to follow instructions and completes all assignments in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of safety procedures regarding disposal of biohazardous wastes and other trash according to departmental procedures.
• Knowledge of safety procedures regarding lifting and transferring equipment, supplies, and furniture.
• Ability to use assigned equipment in a safe and careful manner.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and restocks all assigned areas according to departmental standards and guidelines.
• Disposes of trash, biomedical and solid waste materials to appropriate disposal areas.
• Prepares patient rooms for occupancy after patients are discharged.
• Replaces supplies as needed.
• Alerts supervisor of potential problems and safety hazards.
