Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated housekeeping worker to perform standard cleaning procedures across hospital areas, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and common spaces. The role supports a clean, safe, and healing environment for patients and staff.

Night shift hours provide stable schedule and benefits; starting pay ranges from $19.00 to $31.55 per hour, based on full-time 40-hour weeks, with prorating for part-time hours where applicable.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and follow simple English instruction.
• 3–6 months housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard cleaning procedures in all hospital areas: patient rooms, surgery areas, units, nurseries, nursing stations, lounges and bathrooms.
• Disinfect surfaces, mop floors, vacuum carpets, empty trash and polish fixtures.
• Burnish floors and operate floor machines as needed.
• Check out cleaning of discharges and transfer units, including bed making.
• Transport trash to designated collection points for pickup.
