Job summary

Elliot Health System seeks a Manager of Food Services to lead production, service, and staff across hospital facilities. You will partner with nutrition teams, hospital operations, and vendors to deliver safe, high-quality meals and efficient service.

Responsibilities include policy development, budget management, and expanding Retail programs while ensuring a clean, welcoming dining environment. A Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of management experience in large-scale food service are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3–5 years of management or supervisory experience in restaurant or large institution.
• Safe Handling Food Service certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate policies, standards, and procedures for effective nutrition care.
• Maintain and monitor department expenses and capital equipment budgets and operate within budget guidelines.
• Participate in short- and long-term budgetary planning for the department with the Director of Hospitality; oversee financial aspects of Retail Program.
• Develop the Retail Programs in conjunction with Director, Production Manager, or their designees.
• Maintain the physical appearance of the Cafeteria and ensure cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness; coordinate with Environmental Services and vendors.
• Facilitate department meetings and ensure productive discussions.
• Exhibit leadership behaviors per EHS Guiding Principles and Beliefs.
• Design menus and procure products to balance customer satisfaction with financial objectives.
• Ensure meal presentation and service meet high quality and customer satisfaction.
• Lead FNS staff: hiring, training, performance management, and team development.
• Work with the FNS Management Team to achieve goals and coordinate with other staff and managers.
• Oversee staff scheduling within budget; supply staff to other areas as needed.
• Supervise all procedures and resolve issues or escalate appropriately.
• Oversee diet ordering system and IT/vendor coordination for issues.
• Assist staff with rounding to ensure positive customer-focused operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
