Job summary

Avera Tyler Hospital is seeking a Food Service Worker to provide high quality customer meals through snack and meal assembly, service, and cleanup. You will prepare and organize food items for patients and other customers, serve according to diet and menu requirements, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to Avera’s CARE values. Prior food service experience is helpful, but High School or GED equivalency is required;

Qualifications

• Must have ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Able to work in a team environment and coordinate with team members.
• Good visual acuity to perform position duties and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize assigned food items efficiently and accurately for patients and other customers.
• Serve food items in accordance with diet, specifications and menu requirements.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, dishes, pots/pans, floor mats, floors, and work areas following proper procedure.
• Stock storerooms, refrigerators and work areas with supplies using first in, first out principle and appropriate dating.
• Operate dish machine and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• May work the register, close out register and counts money.
