The Environmental Services Technician position is a non-exempt, hospital housekeeping role supporting infection control and facility cleanliness in a prison healthcare setting.

Under close supervision the Environmental Services Technician performs environmental services functions for a healthcare facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in hospital custodial work preferred.
• Ability to read and follow chemical labels and MSDS directions.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, and polish areas following infection control protocols.
• Clean stairs, hallways, restrooms, offices, and cells including waste removal.
• Disinfect and sanitize areas and restock bathroom dispensers.
• Read and follow material safety data sheets and chemical directions.
• Schedule pickups of trash and biohazard waste bins for the facility.
• Respond to environmental emergencies and requests for assistance.
