Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta seeks a dedicated janitorial specialist to clean patient and non-patient areas, using appropriate cleaning agents and maintaining a safe environment.

You will follow infection control procedures, restock supplies, operate light power equipment, and greet patients and staff to foster a positive atmosphere. High school diploma preferred; ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• May require ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties involved with cleaning patient and non-patient areas by utilizing appropriate cleaning aids.
• Cleans floors with vacuums, dust mops, and/or wet mops.
• Collects and removes trash and recyclable items and deposits to designated area.
• May be required to dispose of biochemical waste in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Operates light power equipment and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
