Job summary

Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine, seeks an Environmental Technician/Porter to maintain clean and safe patient areas according to hospital policies. Reporting to the Director, Safety & Environmental Services, this PRN role involves 7 Step cleaning of patient rooms and clinical areas, following discharge procedures and infection control guidelines.

The position offers a varied schedule and hourly pay ranging from $18.95 to $22.11 and may include additional compensation elements

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Performs 7 Step cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units/offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, and rest rooms
• Follows discharge cleaning procedures as written
• Follow infection control guidelines when cleaning precaution rooms
• Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedures.
• Uses and maintains equipment properly.
• Removes trash, biomedical wastes and soiled linen from patient rooms to appropriate disposal areas for Porter pick up
• Replenishes paper supplies, bedside and bio bags as needed.
