Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient rooms and hospital areas clean and sanitized. You will perform routine cleaning, use specialized equipment, and follow biohazard disposal procedures to protect patients and staff.

You will maintain cleaning carts, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with the care team to ensure a clean, safe environment and a positive patient experience across the network.

Qualifications

• None, upon hire
• Preferred: High School Graduate General Studies with healthcare experience, upon hire
• Preferred: High School GED General Studies with healthcare experience, upon hire

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas and equipment and common areas.
• Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment; follows waste handling procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follows infection prevention practices, including proper hand hygiene and PPE; maintains HIPAA privacy standards.
• Operates and maintains EVS tools and equipment; may assist with conference room setups, stairwell/elevator cleaning, and cubicle curtain hanging.
