Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Associate to clean and disinfect hospital areas, contributing to a positive and healing experience for patients. You will stock supplies, handle linen and maintain equipment, following strict safety and hygiene practices.

The role requires basic reading/writing, 17+ years of age, and at least a year of related experience is preferred. Overtime may be required to ensure top-quality facility cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 17 years of age; one year related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow basic instructions.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect hospital areas following proven methods from top to bottom, clockwise or counter-clockwise, and from cleanest to dirtiest.
• Clean occupied patient rooms following 7-step; unoccupied rooms follow 10-step processes.
• Perform normal cleaning and disinfection of all areas, including floors, surfaces, restrooms and windows.
• Stock supplies; maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, orderly fashion.
• Handle linen stocks, color-coded bags, and distribution to patient care areas.
• Use PPE per protocol; report needed repairs and ensure proper chemical handling.
