Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to clean all areas of the hospital and care centers in accordance with policies and procedures. The role includes dusting, disinfecting, restocking, trash removal, floor care, and transporting linens and waste in a busy hospital environment.

The position emphasizes good time management, proper equipment handling, and adherence to department policies. Training new hires and supporting departmental tasks are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Prefers high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand oral and/or written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Cleans all areas of the hospital/care center according to policies and procedures.
• Dusts, disinfects, restocks, pulls trash, dust mops, mops, vacuums, scrubs, buffs, waxes; transports linens and waste streams per procedure.
• Replenishes linen and stock supplies to par levels.
• Demonstrates good time management; maintains responsibility for equipment.
• Operates and maintains equipment; cleans and stores after use; uses signage for floor maintenance.
• Uses bed tracking systems and Kronos; participates in departmental/hospital functions.
• Trains and instructs new hires and performs other duties as assigned.
