Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital - Springfield is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to help maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. You will clean patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, corridors and common areas, following daily schedules and infection control policies.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (preferred) and prior hospital or housekeeping experience; strong communication with patients and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior hospital or healthcare setting experience preferred; cleaning/housekeeping experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls and windows daily.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, and shine floors; replenish supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor scrubbers.
• Collect and remove trash from all areas of the facility daily.
• Stock linens to ensure unit readiness.
• Adhere to infection control policies and report safety hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
