Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Service Associate for a 2PM-10:30PM shift in Towson. Responsibilities include cleaning assigned hospital areas, preparing cleaning solutions, and maintaining sanitation standards in accordance with policy.

Logs are kept via Interserv, with strict attention to patient and workplace safety. The role requires reliable teamwork, ability to work under time constraints, and courteous interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well under time constraints and to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; loads utility cart and transports to work areas after receiving instructions.
• Cleans assigned areas by performing a variety of housekeeping duties (cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing).
• Inspects area upon completion to ensure cleanliness.
• Prepares cleaning solutions according to written instructions on label.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and remakes beds with fresh linen.
• Notifies team leader of needed maintenance repairs in assigned areas.
• Cleans and stores equipment regularly in porter closet or storage area.
• Logs on and off Interserv per GBMC policy; logs tasks on Interserv per policy.
