Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Environmental Service Aide to maintain a clean and safe patient environment. This role involves cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, delivering linen, and removing trash in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Good communication and Customer Service skills required.
• Must be able to lift, bend and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be flexible with working various days including alternating weekends and holidays.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong teamwork and patient focus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture and other areas in a timely manner.
• Deliver linen and remove trash from assigned areas.
• Sweep and mop patient rooms.
• Maintain adequate stock of materials, supplies and chemicals on cleaning cart and in janitor's closet.
• Daily floor care procedure performed consistently.
• Keep carts, tanks and buckets clean and rinsed at shift end; perform other duties per hospital policies.
