Job summary

Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital seeks an Electrician to install, test, inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems across its facilities.

You will collaborate with Engineering staff, manage stock for emergencies, and coordinate work with the Lead Electrician while ensuring safety and code compliance. The role requires a Florida journeyman license or equivalent, a valid Florida driver’s license, and four years of electrician experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Journeyman Electrician license Florida or Orange County.
• Valid Florida driver's license with no more than six points, at least 21 years old.
• Four years’ experience as Electrician or Electrician’s Helper.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, inspects, maintains, and repairs electric lights, power distribution circuits, controls, and appliances.
• Collaborates with other Engineering staff as required.
• Orders necessary stock and makes emergency repairs without prior approval.
• Receives work orders and coordinates work to fit schedule as assigned by Lead Electrician.
• Maintains facility power distribution systems, mechanical alarm and medical gas alarm systems.
• Repairs electric motors, controllers and other auxiliary electrical devices.
• Installs new wiring and electrical machinery.
• Works from prints and diagrams to determine layout, location, and specifications of items to install.
• Bends and installs conduit.
• Installs concealed wiring; isolates and repairs defective circuits as required.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations.
• Assists the fire alarm testing company as needed to maintain facility fire alarm system.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
