Job summary

Arnot Ogden Medical Center is seeking a Dining Assistant on a per diem basis in the Food and Nutrition department. You will gather tray delivery information, take patient meal orders on tablets, and communicate dietary needs with nursing staff to ensure patient comfort and nutrition.

Responsibilities include assembling patient trays, delivering carts to units, and maintaining clean service areas. Physical stamina to stand for long periods is required; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Some physical effort or strain required. May involve lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching or stooping. Required to be on feet for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Gathers all tray delivery information to be prepared for tray delivery.
• Takes patient meal orders using tablets.
• Communicates with the nursing unit regarding Patient diets and special needs.
• Assists Patients with any concerns about the tray or meal service.
• Cleans counters, steam tables, cold tables, dining room tables and chairs, ovens, ranges, hoods and sinks.
• Transports soiled dishes for Doctor's Dining Room to conveyor.
• Assembles Patient trays, loads carts and delivers carts to units.
• Delivers and returns carts and soiled tray carts to and from patient areas and special meeting areas.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
