Job summary

UW Medical Center-Montlake Environmental Services in Seattle is seeking Evening Hospital Custodians for 40 hours per week. The position features an evening shift from 3:00pm to 11:00pm with rotating weekends to support inpatient and non-patient areas.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure.
• Removes and properly handles soiled linen; disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms; dust and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant.
• Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and cleanup according to procedure.
• Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors. Uses high speed floor buffers, polishers, and automated floors scrubbers.
• Performs in between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure.
• Vacuums and spot clean carpets; operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors.
• Performs cleaning and related activities in areas within a reasonable distance outside of the facility using hand-operated tools or small power equipment to remove snow or debris, and sweep sidewalks or stairs.
• Complies with safety policies and procedures and medical center emergency and disaster procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE

• 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
• Evening shift, (3:00pm - 11:00pm) - Rotating every other weekend.
