Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a Courier to join our transport team. You will move specimens, reports and supplies between hospitals, satellite operations and other NorthShore sites to support patient care.

This full-time role requires safe vehicle operation, pre/post-trip inspections, accurate data entry on a handheld device, and coordination with dispatchers. A valid Illinois Class D license and 6 months to 1 year of courier driving experience are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
• Valid Illinois Class D driver's license and clean driving record.
• Six months to one year of courier driving experience preferred; knowledge of medical specimens a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transport specimens, reports, and supplies between hospitals, satellite operations, and other NorthShore sites.
• Operate hospital vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic regulations.
• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a clean, fueled vehicle at all times.
• Document pick-up/delivery data on a handheld device.
• Communicate with dispatchers and laboratory staff to ensure patient care.
• Transport employees and supplies between hospitals and other NorthShore sites.
• Meet confidentiality and service standards for customers.
