Job summary

Quad Recruitment is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join a fast-paced hospital team in Louisiana. You will review orders, verify meds, and ensure safe, effective therapy in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and support staff.

You will participate in rounds, manage chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition, and mentor technicians while maintaining licensure and ongoing education. This role emphasizes patient-centered care and medication safety.

Qualifications

• Active pharmacist license in good standing.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong clinical pharmacy knowledge and patient care skills.
• Experience with sterile compounding preferred.
• Experience with chemotherapy and/or parenteral nutrition is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and verify medication orders.
• Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor patients for appropriate drug therapy, dosing, allergies, contraindications, and interactions.
• Provide clinical recommendations and medication-related consultation to healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds.
• Identify and report adverse drug reactions.
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals about medications.
• Compound and dispense sterile and non-sterile medications, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
• Safely manage controlled substances and maintain documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient medication records.
• Participate in quality improvement and pharmacy initiatives.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff.
• Maintain licensure, CE credits, and certifications.
