Job summary

NYU Langone Hospitals is hiring a Housekeeping Worker to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the Medical Center. You will follow infection control guidelines and safety procedures while performing daily cleaning tasks in patient areas and common spaces.

The role requires basic English communication, the ability to read labels, and the potential for 1–2 years of healthcare cleaning experience. This is a full-time on-site position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate and understand simple directions in English.
• Must be able to read MSDS & chemical labels.
• 1–2 years experience cleaning in a Health Care environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established safety and infection control guidelines and follows departmental procedures.
• Performs cleaning tasks across assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal.
• Operates cleaning equipment and replenishes supplies as needed.
• Performs discharge cleaning and bed tracking duties as required.
