Job summary

TruWay Staffing Services is seeking a Hospital Terminal Cleaner to maintain a clean, sanitary environment across patient care areas, corridors, and support spaces in our Norfolk facility.

You will follow infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines, operate floor buffers and scrubbers, restock supplies, dispose of waste, log cleaning activities, and collaborate with healthcare staff to address sanitation needs.

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare environments preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards related to workplace safety and chemical handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and disinfecting of hospital areas including patient rooms, hallways, and restrooms.
• Follow infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines to ensure safety for staff and patients.
• Operate floor care equipment such as buffers and scrubbers to maintain clean surfaces.
• Restock supplies (paper towels, soap) to ensure availability.
• Dispose of waste according to hospital policies, including biohazard materials when needed.
• Maintain logs of cleaning activities and issues encountered during shifts.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to address sanitation needs promptly.
