Job summary

Allina Health Chaplains provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed spiritual care to patients, families and staff. The role supports holistic well-being and requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across Mercy/Unity.

Position is 0.8 FTE with 64 hours per two-week pay period, 8-hour day shifts, and no weekend work. A Master’s in Divinity and CPE are required, plus licensing criteria for hire with room for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Divinity or equivalent.
  • Completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • One year of experience as a spiritual care provider.
  • Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • Two years of experience as a spiritual care provider.
  • Board certification as a professional chaplain preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment in hospice setting.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers or arranges spiritual care to patients and families; assess spiritual needs and respond to referrals.
  • Leads groups, provides care during end-of-life and crisis situations; documents encounters in EMR.
  • Promotes spiritual and emotional well-being of Allina Health employees via consultations, debriefs, group sessions, rituals, memorials.
