Job summary

BMC is seeking a General Services Technician - Unlicensed Carpenter to fabricate, install, and repair carpentry-related building elements at our health center. The role requires substantial experience in preparing and finishing interior and exterior surfaces, with strong shop and field skills.

The candidate will work with doors, windows, and fixtures, perform remodeling, and coordinate with hospital staff during ongoing operations and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Full-time experience in preparation, decoration and protection of interior and exterior surfaces.
• Ability to read plans, sketches and shop drawings for milling and fabrication.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools for carpentry tasks.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, installation and repair of doors, windows, ceilings and floors.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and apply coatings using brushes, rollers or spray.
• Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape and assemble wood and other materials.
• Maintain and safeguard hospital tools, equipment, and logs.
• Coordinate with managers and fellow workers; respond to on-call maintenance needs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine rounds on equipment and spaces.
