Job summary

Nite Lines USA provides contract health care services and is seeking a Psychiatrist (1099) in Osawatomie, KS. The physician will admit, evaluate, and treat patients, document in the EHR, and manage psychiatric and medical medications as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes on-call coverage, court reporting as needed, and collaboration with hospital staff. Current Kansas license and psychiatry residency completion are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of medical school training.
• Completion of residency in Psychiatry in an approved training program, or at least two years of an approved residency training program.
• Current active medical license in Kansas.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of psychiatric and medical medications.
• Ability to work with other physicians and other hospital staff.
• Ability to utilize technical skills such as typing, use of Dragon dictation.

Responsibilities

• Admit patients and complete admission paperwork including psychiatric evaluations, medication orders, allergy forms, and other required documentation.
• Appropriately assess and treat patients' psychiatric and medical needs, prescribe medications, and consider safety profiles and costs.
• Educate patients on medications and other treatment interventions.
• Order diagnostic tests and document ICD-10 based diagnoses to justify medical necessity.
• Utilize appropriate consultations and coordinate with peers and outside consultants as needed.
• Provide ongoing evaluation and discharge planning, and respond to emergencies and critical incidents as required.
• Document actions in the EHR per hospital policies and CMS regulations.
• Clinical director to review quarterly and annually for competency and quality.
