Job summary

Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, part of Hackensack Meridian Health, seeks a compassionate full-time Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to join our collaborative team. You will provide psychiatric consultations across medical and surgical units and evaluate emergency department presentations.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop integrated care plans, manage medications, and support patients and families.

Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
Valid New Jersey medical license.
Experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric consultations for patients on medical and surgical units.
Evaluate patients who enter the emergency department for psychiatric services.
Evaluate and diagnose a wide range of psychiatric disorders in the context of medical illness.
Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, psychotherapy recommendations, and crisis intervention.
Provide education and support to patients, families, and medical staff regarding psychiatric illness and treatment.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of integrated care pathways.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
