Job summary

UCI Health in California is seeking a dedicated lab support professional to serve as the primary liaison between customers and the lab team. You will handle phone inquiries, enter data into lab systems, and print/deliver lab reports with accuracy and empathy.

You will review requisitions, perform quality checks, and support scheduling and communications across internal and external customers, including weekends and rotating shifts as needed.

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work weekends, and rotating shifts including evenings, nights and holidays.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Provides a supportive link between UCI customers both internal and external, facilitates communications by effectively navigating computer and phone systems, builds and maintains customer relationships while providing a positive, professional and empathetic understanding to all customers. Main duties include phone calls, computer data entry, and printing/delivering lab reports. Reviews lab requisitions and performs quality review and troubleshooting.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
• Ability to work weekends, and rotating shifts including evenings, nights and holidays
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in customer service
• Experience with lab/hospital computer systems and software
