Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a lab support professional to provide a link between internal and external customers, navigate computer and phone systems, and maintain positive relationships. The role includes handling phone calls, data entry, and printing/delivering lab reports.

Responsibilities include reviewing lab requisitions and performing quality review and troubleshooting to ensure accurate lab results and timely delivery to patients and providers.

Qualifications

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval.
• Ability to work weekends and rotating shifts including evenings, nights and holidays.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
• Experience with lab/hospital computer systems and software (preferred).

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

Provides a supportive link between UCI customers both internal and external, facilitates communications by effectively navigating computer and phone systems, builds and maintains customer relationships while providing a positive, professional and empathetic understanding to all customers. Main duties include phone calls, computer data entry, and printing/delivering lab reports. Reviews lab requisitions and performs quality review and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval

• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service
