Assured Hospice of Moses Lake, part of LHC Group within the UnitedHealth Group family, is hiring an Afterhours Registered Nurse to deliver hospice care after regular hours, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities include triaging calls, nursing evaluations, afterhours visits, and documenting patient/family needs and responses.

Qualified candidates hold WA RN licensure, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; 1+ year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.
  • Ability to work in diverse home settings and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patient needs over the phone until an in-person visit by a nurse.
  • Respond to after-hours crisis calls with urgency.
  • Initial nursing evaluation to determine hospice eligibility within 48 hours of referral.
  • Conduct after-hours visits including admissions, death, recertification, and routine visits.
  • Identify needs and reassess every 15 days; document problems, goals, and responses.

As the Afterhours Registered Nurse, your primary focus is to conduct comprehensive and timely delivery of hospice care for patients and their families after regular business hours, including at night and on the weekends.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Able to triage patient needs over the phone until a nurse can provide an in‑person visit
  • Responds appropriately and with urgency to crisis calls from patients and families after hours
  • Makes the initial nursing evaluation in determining eligibility for hospice services, as part of a patient visit, within forty‑eight (48) hours of referral if assigned
  • Competent to perform afterhours visits including admission visits, death visits, recertification visits, and routine visits
  • Identifies the patient/family's physical, psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needs and reassesses them as needed, no less than every fifteen (15) days
  • Documents problems, appropriate goals, interventions, and patient/family response to hospice care

Required Qualifications
  • Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice experience
  • Current CPR Certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
  • Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
  • Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client

The salary for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
