Job summary

Metropolitan Jewish Health System is seeking a Hospice Associate Director of Patient Services to lead our nursing team in delivering compassionate hospice and palliative care. You will mentor staff, schedule assignments, and ensure care aligns with program goals and state regulations.

Responsibilities include supporting the Assoc. DPS, empowering RN Case Managers in pain and symptom management, and presenting in the community with Admissions/Outreach teams. NY RN licensure required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN or BS degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of Hospice nursing experience.
  • New York State RN licensure required.
  • National Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care (CHPN) preferred or obtained within one year.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to mentor nursing staff and work within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentoring guidance to nursing staff day-to-day.
  • Schedule staff assignments in accordance with NHPCO and MJH staffing ratios.
  • Empower RN Case Managers in pain and symptom management and patient/family goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing documentation per policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Make community presentations with Admissions/Outreach teams.
