Job summary

Compassus is hiring an On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours patient care and weekend coverage. You will help patients and families focus on comfort and meaningful activities, building trusting relationships with caregivers.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, strong teamwork, and dedication to high-quality home-based hospice care. An active RN license and CPR/BCLS credentials are required, with hospice experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Current CPR and BCLS certifications.
• Valid driver's license.
• Flexibility to cover after-hours, weekends, or rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospice patient care after-hours and on weekends as needed.
• Help patients spend quality time with loved ones and engage in activities they enjoy.
• Build trusting, compassionate relationships with patients and families.
• Educate caregivers on care for their loved one to empower them.
• Support patients and families to maintain comfort and coping during after-hours emergencies.

Hospice On-Call Registered Nurse / RN Requirements

• RN license in the state you work
• Two years of experience as a registered nurse, hospice experience preferred
• Current driver’s license
• Current CPR and BCLS certification
• Flex your schedule to meet agency-staffing needs. Typical schedules may include weekends only, weeknights only, or seven days on, seven days off
