Job summary

Liberty Health in Burlington, North Carolina seeks an experienced Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate end‑of‑life care within a home‑based or hospice setting. You will apply nursing theory, document care per reimbursement guidelines, coordinate with families and the hospice team, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings.

A $10,000 sign‑on bonus is offered for qualified candidates. Required RN licensure, hospice experience preferred, CPR, and willingness to travel;

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state of practice.
• Two years clinical nursing experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of home health and hospice care program functions.
• CPR certification and 12 hours CE annually.
• Willingness to travel and weekend/on-call coverage.

Job Description

• Apply a working knowledge of nursing theories and concepts.
• Responsible for care and documentation of care which meets reimbursement guidelines.
• Coordinate physical care of the patient with family, patient, physician and hospice team.
• Communicate with patients/families at all levels.
• Communicate with all agency personnel.
• Attend and participate in inter‑disciplinary team meetings and quality review as scheduled by agency.

Job Requirements

• Current RN licensure in state of practice, successful completion of schooling from an approved school of nursing with two years of clinical nursing experience and at least one year of hospice nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the framework, functions and organization of a home health and hospice care program and the nurse’s role as a member of the patient care team.
• Working knowledge of the principles and practice of nursing according to the nursing practice act, agency policies and procedures, and reimbursement guidelines.
• 12 hours of continuing education annually.
• CPR certification.
• Accept travel based on agency need as well as weekend, evening and holiday call assignments.
