Samaritan is seeking a Hospice Physician to provide medical care in our inpatient units and to collaborate closely with the care team in Mount Laurel, NJ. The role includes medical consultations, teaching responsibilities, and on-call coverage as part of a rotating schedule.

Requirements include a medical degree (MD/DO), current NJ license, and a minimum of four years’ experience. EMR documentation and regulatory compliance are essential parts of daily work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• MD or DO degree.
• Current license to practice medicine in New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients in Samaritan inpatient units and collaborate with staff.
• Offer medical consultation to hospice personnel to ensure quality care.
• May include Palliative Medicine consultation for patients and families.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings to guide patient care.
• Coordinate with the patient’s primary care physician and specialists.
• Teach Fellows, Residents and Medical Students.
• Complete EMR documentation promptly and sign required documents.
• Maintain open communication with office staff about scheduling.
• Support quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and payer regulations.
• Review and provide input on clinical policies.
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage.

• Providing medical consultation to all hospice personnel to ensure quality patient care.
