Job summary

VA Northern California Healthcare System seeks a dedicated physician (Attending) in Hospice and Palliative Care to serve veteran patients in the Northern/Central California network.

As HBPC team physician, you will lead an interprofessional group, provide in-home and clinic care, mentor learners, and participate in program development. This role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits with pathways for loan repayment and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen per VA policy.
• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Successful completion of residency in an approved core specialty.
• Board eligibility or certification required.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Preferred experience in Home Care, geriatrics, or palliative care.
• Must meet annual Employee Health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to veteran patients in the VA system.
• Serve as Attending physician for a panel of patients and lead the interprofessional team.
• See patients in homes and clinical settings, with potential televisit involvement.
• Educate and mentor residents and other learners as needed.
