Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Hospice On-Call Registered Nurse / RN to provide compassionate after-hours and weekend patient care. You’ll support patients to stay comfortable at home, help families cope, and partner with the care team to coordinate services while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state you work.
• Minimum of 2 years as a registered nurse; hospice preferred.
• Current CPR/BCLS certifications and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospice patient care after-hours and weekends as needed.
• Help patients and families spend quality time together and maintain comfort.
• Build trusting, compassionate relationships with patients and families.
• Educate caregivers on care techniques for loved ones.
• Support after-hours emergency needs to optimize comfort.

How you’ll make an impact as a Hospice On-Call Registered Nurse / RN

• Provide hospice patient care after-hours and weekend, as needs arise for our patients
• Enable patients to spend quality time with their loved ones and doing the activities they enjoy
• Build trusting compassionate relationships with your patients and their families
• Empower caregivers by educating them on care for their loved one
• Help the patient and family maintain their maximum level of comfort and coping for after-hours emergency support

Requirements

• RN license in the state you work
• Two years of experience as a registered nurse, hospice experience preferred
• Current driver’s license
• Current CPR and BCLS certification
• Flex your schedule to meet agency-staffing needs. Typical schedules may include weekends only, weeknights only, or seven days on, seven days off
