Job summary

Care Initiatives Hospice in Cedar Rapids is seeking a dedicated Hospice Nurse - RN for a 7D on/7D off schedule, providing comprehensive end-of-life care in home, long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings.

Qualifications

• RN with a minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Current, valid CPR certification.
• Demonstrated patience and a supportive and sensitive approach to providing patient, family, and caregiver support.
• Willingness and ability to provide care in facility and patient home settings.

Responsibilities

• This is a full-time role with a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, taking calls from 4:30 PM to 8:00 AM and some weekend visits.
• Support patients and families in times of greatest need and respond to emergent needs on weekends, evenings and overnight.
• Assist patients and caregivers, provide meds available and offer teaching to ensure comfort during pain, breathlessness, dying/transitioning or end-of-life support.
