Job summary

Circle of Life is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice team in Arkansas. The ideal candidate will hold unrestricted APN/NP licensure in Arkansas with the ability to obtain compact licensure for Oklahoma and will have 3+ years of inpatient or nursing facility experience.

Active RN licensure and ANCC/AANP certification are required. The role involves assessing patients for hospice admission, communicating with physicians, coordinating care, and ordering diagnostics and medications as

Qualifications

  • Unrestricted APN/NP licensure in Arkansas with ability to attain compact licensure for Oklahoma.
  • Three+ years of experience in inpatient/nursing facility or internal medicine/family practice settings.
  • Active RN licensure with NP prescriptive authority (AR).
  • Current ANCC or AANP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessments to determine hospice admission, readmission/recertification, and ongoing patient care; reports results to Physician team.
  • Provides information to patients and families about hospice philosophy, goals, reimbursement, and Circle of Life services.
  • Ensures timely communication with community physicians to promote continuity of care.
  • Interprets/records data on diagnostics, labs, and therapeutic interventions; orders studies as appropriate.
  • Provides subsequent care with assessment of condition and response to care.
  • Arranges consultations from subspecialty services when needed.
  • Orders medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with regulations.
